Suellyn at the Chill and Thrill
Twenty Third Annual “Spring” Seaplane Seminar
Hi All,
We had a good time at the Twenty Third Annual Spring Seaplane Seminar held April 12 at Lake Hood Seaplane Base. The outside temp was about 23° F with a light breeze from the north at 5-10 mph. When I thought of the folks at Sun and Fun in Florida that day, Chill and Thrill seemed appropriate. Approximately 170 local pilots attended this event.
We made contact with many potential members, and had nine or so express interest in the wing by giving us their contact information. We were able to generate $157 for the wing from cap sales and donations.
Suellyn Wright Novak worked hard at this event. We had the aircraft positioned outside the venue and were able to greet the attendees as they arrived and during their breaks between seminars. Suellyn stayed with the aircraft outside from about 9am to 3:30 pm. We really owe her a great big “THANK YOU”!
Mike Hunt, Stephen Beck, Bob Halverson, and Cliff Belleau also helped throughout the day. Thank you all for your hard work.
Please check your calendar for May 3-4. The Alaskan Airmen Alaska State Trade Show and Conference will be held that week end. We will have the Harvard there and will need volunteers to assist us. All are welcome.
